Board of Directors

Nick Colyer

Managing Director

Nick was appointed to the Board of Directors as Managing Director on 1st July 2020. Nick is responsible for defining ITL’s global operations strategy, setting the strategic direction while nurturing a strong leadership team to drive its execution. He has over a decade of industry experience in Supply Chain, Materials Control and Operations Management.

Prior to his appointment, Nick held a number of management positions, including Operations Manager and Materials Control Manager. Nick holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Brighton and is a member of the Institute of Directors. He is also a certified BSI Lean Practitioner.

Stephen Hope

Business Development Director

Steve was appointed to the Board of Directors as Business Development Director on 1st July 2020. He has over 33 years’ experience working in the medical device and life science industries; specialising in Mechatronics, Design, Product Development and Business Development. Steve is responsible for the global commercial direction of ITL and oversees all Technical, Marketing and Business Development activities.

He joined ITL in 1987 as a Mechanical Engineer and has subsequently held various executive positions including; New Product Development Manager, R&D Manager and Chief Mechanical Engineer. Steve holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology.


Tom Ackrill

Business Development Manager

Tom joined ITL in 2011 as a Business Development Coordinator and now serves as Business Development Manager. He is responsible for developing, driving and leading the company’s global sales and marketing functions. Tom is well-versed in the product development process and its associated regulatory framework and is intimately involved in contract negotiations and development of customer relationships.

Tom started his career in the life science industry, working as a Microbiology Analyst at Severn Trent Services. He now holds a degree in Analytical Science from the University of Coventry.

Ian McCutcheon

Research & Development Manager

Ian is responsible for leading ITL’s multidisciplinary Research and Development team. He has over 30 years’ R&D experience working in the medical device, life science and aerospace industries; with proven leadership in project management, new product development and systems engineering.

He joined the company in 1990 and has since been involved in the realization and development of hundreds of products. During his career at ITL, he held positions including Principal Design Engineer and Project Manager. Ian is a qualified Electronics Design Engineer with a background in Military and Defense.

Steve Rowland

Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance Manager

Tristan Lambert

Production Manager

As Production Manager, Tristan is responsible for ITL’s production activities and operations. He coordinates and controls manufacturing processes, ensuring quality products are delivered on-time and to specification. With more than 20 years’ industry experience, he is well-versed in helping customers achieve their strategic manufacturing goals.

Tristan joined ITL in 1999 and has since held several roles in production and operations where he has established a track record as a leader with expertise in lean manufacturing and project management. Tristan is a certified BSI Lean Practitioner.

Paul Brooker

New Product Manager

As New Product Manager, Paul is involved in all aspects of bringing a product to market; working cross-functionally with Production, Production Engineering, and Purchasing departments to support and communicate delivery of new products. He has over 30 years’ contract manufacturing experience in the medical, diagnostic, and aerospace sectors; with a proven track record in continuous improvement, leadership, and project management.

Paul joined ITL in 1988 as Production Operator and has since held several roles in production and operations including, Production Supervisor, Senior Production Supervisor, and Production Manager.

Lee Gaute

Projects Manager

Lee is responsible for leading complex instrumentation development projects, overseeing a multidisciplinary team of engineers, and ensuring successful completion of projects to customer satisfaction, on-time and on-budget. Lee has over 30 years’ experience working in the medical device, life science and biotechnology industries; specializing in mechanical engineering, production engineering and project management.

Lee joined ITL in 1986 as a Production Engineer where he gained a comprehensive understanding of both design and manufacturing processes. Lee is a qualified Mechanical Engineer with experience developing flight control systems for Military and Defense industries.

Martin Foxley

Projects Manager

As Projects Manager, Martin is responsible for leading and delivering multiple design and development projects of various size, complexity and risk. He has over 30 years’ industry experience and is well-versed in project management, regulatory affairs and quality assurance.

Martin joined the company in 1982 and has since been involved in over 100 projects. Prior to joining ITL, he worked as a Professional Technology Officer for the MoD (N), specializing in naval defence technology. He is also a trained medical device auditor with a broad knowledge of the instrument safety certification process.

Johnson Zhou

General Manager, Shanghai

Johnson is responsible for leading ITL’s Chinese subsidiary, Integrated Electronic Systems (Shanghai) Limited; overseeing and driving our strategic growth within China, Japan and South East Asia. With over 15 years’ experience, he is well-versed in operations management, research and development, and regulatory affairs.

Johnson joined the Group in 2006 as General Manager. He started his career in the life science industry working as an R&D Technician specializing in gene expression microarray studies. He holds a degree in Biotechnology and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from Shanghai’s University of Engineering Science.

Thomas Jull

Vice President of Operations, Virginia

In 2013, Thomas was appointed VP of Operations and established ITL’s US-based manufacturing and servicing facility. He plays a crucial role in supporting the company’s growth in the US; managing all US business operations including manufacturing, procurement and supply chain, servicing and repair, distribution and logistics, and customer support.

Prior to his appointment, Thomas served as a Systems Engineer in ITL’s R&D department. Thomas holds a Master of Science in Technology Management and a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Systems Thinking. He is also a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and a Six Sigma Black Belt.
