For over four decades, G&H | ITL has been an industry-leading outsource partner for true end-to-end design, development, and manufacturing of life-saving medical technology, diagnostic devices, and laboratory instruments. We are currently recruiting for a NPI Engineer, The New Product Introduction Engineer will work primarily within the NPI Team but will have key working relationships with the New Business, Production Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, QA/RA and R&D departments. This role requires a driven and flexible individual that can multitask, plan, schedule, manage time effectively and coordinate various tasks to tight time scales.

Main Duties

  • Working closely with the NPI Lead, New Business and Supply Chain teams to ensure the timely generation of quotations for potential new business
  • Liaising with the production engineering and production teams for introduction of new products when new business has been won, this shall include generation and maintenance of project plans, coordinating internal resource and problem solving along the way
  • Coordinating work with the QA team to generate Process Validation documentation to a satisfactory standard to pass ISO13485, FDA, MDR audits
  • Reviewing Technical Packages provided by potential new customers
  • Carrying out a Gap analysis on technical packages, providing written observations to the customer and New Business
  • Preparing procurement packages for quotation purposes and following up with labour estimates
  • Providing labour estimates based on the package provided
  • Generate and maintain project plans using Microsoft Project
  • Use a 5-phase approach to manage a project from start to finish

In addition to the above functions and responsibilities employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.

Ideal candidates will have the following:

  • Educated to a degree level in either mechanical or electronics engineering
  • Experience of ISO 13485 and FDA
  • Excellent written and communication skills and high levels of accuracy
  • Excellent time management skills to effectively handle conflicting priorities
  • Experience of MRP systems, Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly desirable in Microsoft Project and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of team management in a fabrication role would be advantageous but not essential
